Siamo nel 1963 e i pantaloni chino sono già un’icona di stile. Merito della loro vestibilità asciutta, della leggerezza e freschezza del tessuto, della capacità di reinventarsi ogni volta per adattarsi a tutti i look.
In negozio li abbiamo accolti con curiosità, ma visto l'immediato apprezzamento abbiamo capito che i Chino sono ben presenti nei guardaroba di molti ragazzi e uomini.
Uno stile che è nato tra le file dei soldati americani ma che ha mantenuto intatto fino ad oggi il suo fascino. Eh già, perché la storia dei pantaloni modello chino è di fatto una storia di guerra.
Nel 1938 essi facevano parte dell’uniforme estiva degli aviatori americani impegnati nel Pacifico per la guerra ispano-americana. Il nome deriva dalla radice anglosassone “chino” usata per indicare i cinesi.
I chino, infatti, sono probabilmente la versione “economica” dei famosi cachy inglesi che nel 1848 avevano sostituito, per ragioni mimetiche, le divise inglesi fino a quel momento composte da pantalone bianco e giubba rossa.
Grazie alla loro resistenza e praticità da quel momento in poi questo modello venne adottato come divisa ufficiale dell’esercito americano durante la seconda guerra mondiale.
Il passaggio dal mondo militare a quello civile fu breve: quando alla fine della guerra tutto l’abbigliamento militare in surplus si riversò sui mercati americani, i chino iniziarono ad essere indossati anche nei college.
Di lì a poco ne diventarono la divisa ufficiale. Camicia botton-down, mocassini Penny e pantalone chino: era nato ufficialmente lo stile preppy.
I chino non sono tutti uguali: variano nei modelli e nella vestibilità e quindi possono essere adattati a vari outfit. In ogni caso il pantalone chino di qualità può durare una vita.
Anzi l’usura lo rende più attuale che mai. E gli dona un fascino senza tempo. Qualche idea di stile per abbinarlo?
Eccone alcune... Per un look “rilassato” scegliete un modello di chino dalla vestibilità comoda, magari con la vita leggermente più bassa rispetto alle classiche versioni denim.
Potete abbinare una camicia da uomo bianca modello classico (magari con particolari a contrasto), un cardigan e per completare l’outfit una cintura che riprende i toni delle scarpe.
Un’altra idea potrebbe essere quella di sostituire la camicia con una polo modello sport: in questo caso l’outfit risulterà più casual, ma senza rinunciare ad essere chic e di tendenza.
Per quanto riguarda lo shoewear in questo caso è meglio evitare scarpe come derby e francesine e optare invece per modelli come mocassini da barca o sneakers.
